Etihad Stadium, which is managed by Melbourne Stadiums Limited (MSL), is governed by five Board Members, who represent the venue’s investors.
Alan Freer, Chairman
Alan has been a Director since 2009 and became Chairman in 2010. He has a career spanning 40 years across the public and private sectors. Senior roles have included Managing Director of Epic Energy Pty Ltd and Ausdoc Group Pty Ltd, as well as senior roles with Email Limited and the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. Other Directorships have included Hastings Funds Management, Electranet, Epic Energy, Airport Link, Hastings Private Equity and a member of the Victorian Police Finance and Investment Committee.
Dennis Phillips, Director
Dennis is the Head of Group Superannuation/Fund Secretary within the National Australia Bank. He has 35 years experience in insurance, investment and superannuation and was previously Chief Executive Officer of Armstrong Jones Life as well Head of Superannuation/Fund Secretary at Coles Myer. Dennis has been an MSL Board member since April 2008.
Jonathan Hannam, Director
Jonathan joined Mirvac in January 2013 as Group Executive, Capital and oversees Mirvac's existing Real Estate and Infrastructure Funds. Jonathan has more than 20 years experience in the real estate sector and prior to joining Mirvac, worked as a Director at Areim, which is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to joining Areim, Jonathan worked for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and has also held senior roles with ING Real Estate in Singapore and FPD Savills in Singapore, the Philippines and Beijing, China. Jonathan has been a Director since September 2013.
Warran Brown, Director
Warran was Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Racing Club from 2004-09. Prior to that he was a committeeman from 2002-04. Warran has also enjoyed an extensive career in the brewing and wine and spirits industries. He was Carlton and United Breweries/Foster’s Group General Manager of National Business. He also served as the brewer’s Regional Director for Australia’s southern states. Warran was National Sales and Marketing Manager for Elders Wines and Spirits. Warran joined the MSL Board in December 2010.
Mark Rogers, Director
Mark is an Associate Director in the Direct Infrastructure team at Colonial First State Global Asset Management and has more than 18 years experience on all sides of the infrastructure sector. Mark has been involved with the Department of Transport and Regional Services during the Federal airport privatisation process, has private consulting experience in major infrastructure projects and has worked with Origin Energy in project construction and operation in the oil and gas sector. Mark is a director of Anglian Water, Electricity North West and Healthcare Support (Newham) Limited. He is also a director and Deputy Chair of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia. Mark was previously a director of Hazelwood Power Corporation and the Metro Transport Sydney Group of companies.
