Essendon Football Club

Essendon is Etihad Stadium's anchor tenant - the Bombers were the first AFL club to announce they would play their home games at the venue. The Bombers won the very first AFL Premiership match at the stadium, in March 2000, convincingly defeating Port Adelaide.

Essendon is considered an AFL ‘powerhouse’ club having won a record 16 Premierships.
