Rugby powerhouse, the British and Irish Lions, will return to Etihad Stadium in 2013 to play the Australian Wallabies in a Test match.

The Lions - selected from the best players in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales - visit Australia only once every 12 years and will reignite the rivalry that exploded in 2001 when the Wallabies won a thrilling series, two Tests to one.

The Test match played at Etihad Stadium in 2001 still holds the record attendance at the venue for a sporting match of any code. More than 56,000 patrons were on hand to see one of sport's greatest rivalries.

The Melbourne Test - which is the second in the series of three - will be hosted at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 29 June, 2013.

Before the British and Irish Lions tour, the Wallabies will play Wales at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 16 June, 2012. The two sides have a developing rivalry, which intensified following Australia's victory over Wales in the recent World Cup bronze final.

Ticketing details for both events will be updated when available. Continue to check our website for further information.
