Etihad Stadium is looking toward the 2010 AFL Premiership Season, following the release of the official fixture on Friday October 30, 2009.

As in previous years, Etihad Stadium will play a major role in the 2010 AFL season, hosting 49 matches, which is three more than the 2009 season.

With impressive performances in 2009 from many of our tenant clubs, the 2010 fixture of matches at Etihad Stadium promises to feature some of the best games of the season.

Last year’s Grand Finalist, St Kilda will play 14 games at Etihad Stadium with other tenant clubs Carlton (9 matches), Essendon (10), the Western Bulldogs (13) and North Melbourne (13) also featuring regularly throughout the season.

Reigning premier Geelong will play three matches at the stadium, while Collingwood will host two home matches as part of their total four games at Etihad Stadium.

Monday night football will return to Etihad Stadium with St Kilda and Carlton playing each other in the blockbuster match on May 10.

Round 1 at Etihad Stadium will see the Western Bulldogs taking on Collingwood on Sunday March 28 and the AFL will trial Thursday night football at the venue on July 1 when Carlton and the Brisbane Lions meet in Round 14.

Once again Etihad Stadium will be heavily involved with the hosting of the NAB Cup pre-season competition. The stadium will host two matches as part of the opening round (St Kilda v Collingwood, Friday February 19 and Geelong v North Melbourne, Sunday February 21) with the potential to host other matches throughout the final three weeks.

Etihad Stadium looks forward to being involved in yet another busy and exciting AFL season in 2010.
