This will be the second time that the Socceroos will face Jordan having met in a FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier in September this year which Jordan won 2-1 in Amman.

Etihad Stadium has an excellent history of hosting Socceroos matches having first hosted the 2010 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier against Qatar in 2008 and an AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Oman in 2009.
FFA CEO David Gallop believes local fans will turn out in droves for the event.

“The Victorian sports public have always provided huge support for the Socceroos and I’m looking forward to a great atmosphere for the June 11 event,” Mr Gallop said.

Etihad Stadium CEO Paul Sergeant OBE said it was an honour to host the Socceroos and, as well, he was confident that a near capacity crowd would attend the match.
