2012 NRL State of Origin series, featuring the NSW Blues and QLD Maroons, will be played at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 23 May.

The 2011 series was considered one of the most exciting in recent history and the two sides will renew hostilities at Etihad Stadium for the opening game in 2012.

While Queensland has dominated State of Origin in recent years, the Blues will be backing themselves in 2012.
